The 9th China-Eurasia Expo opened in Xinjiang, China, with the participation of Iranian companies. Iranian knowledge-based companies are showcasing their latest achievements and products at the exhibition. During the opening ceremony of the Islamic Republic of Iran’s dedicated pavilion at the China-Eurasia Expo, Iran’s Deputy Minister of Interior for Economic Affairs stated that the presence of senior Xinjiang officials, along with ambassadors from friendly and neighboring countries, reflects a collective determination to expand cross-border cooperation and uphold shared human values.
Mehdi Dousti described the gathering as a reminder of the spirit that centuries ago transformed the Silk Road into a major route for the exchange of culture, knowledge, and goods. He added that the route, which once connected East and West, continues today with renewed strength to shape future cooperation.
The deputy minister described Iran and China as two ancient and enduring civilizations that have long been connected through history, culture, economy, and friendship. He said that Xinjiang has become a golden bridge linking Iran and China, and that Iran views this position as a valuable opportunity to deepen longstanding relations and open new horizons for cooperation.
Wang Jianxin, a member of the Standing Committee of the Party Committee of the Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region, also addressed the opening ceremony of Iran’s pavilion. He described expanded cooperation between Xinjiang and Iran as an achievable goal and announced the region’s full readiness to promote comprehensive cooperation with Iran.
The Pavilion of the Islamic Republic of Iran at the China-Eurasia Expo 2026 has been established to introduce Iran’s knowledge-based capabilities and achievements while creating new opportunities for technological and innovation-driven economic cooperation.
The pavilion has been organized with the cooperation of the Presidential Center for Progress and Transformation, the Vice Presidency for Science, Technology and Knowledge-Based Economy, the Trade Promotion Organization of Iran, and the Embassy of the Islamic Republic of Iran in Beijing. It provides a platform to present Iran’s scientific, industrial, and innovative capacities.
At the Iranian pavilion, visitors can explore the products and achievements of Iranian technology companies while experiencing a new narrative of Iran that combines identity, history, innovation, and a forward-looking vision.
The 9th China-Eurasia Expo is being held in Urumqi, the capital of the Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region in northwestern China, under the theme “New Silk Road Opportunities, New Vitality for Eurasian Cooperation.”
According to official statistics released by the exhibition secretariat, representatives from 49 countries, regions, and international organizations are participating in this year’s event. A total of 27 countries and regions, including the Islamic Republic of Iran, have established dedicated national pavilions.
More than 3,000 domestic and international companies and institutions are showcasing their latest achievements and capabilities across an exhibition area of 140,000 square meters.


This year’s exhibition has been organized into six specialized sections. Among them, the “New Quality Productive Forces” section, featuring artificial intelligence, the digital economy, and biotechnology, and the “Green Development” section, dedicated for the first time to low-carbon technologies and clean energy, have attracted significant attention. Organizers emphasized that this edition of the exhibition is being held as a carbon-neutral event with the goal of meeting environmental standards.
More than 80 trade and investment promotion events are expected to be held on the sidelines of the exhibition. According to data from China’s Ministry of Commerce, the total value of merchandise trade between China and Central Asian countries exceeded $100 billion for the first time in 2025, making China the region’s largest trading partner and source of investment.
